Umbral Idle: Last Salvage: Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
Advertising
The app uses Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) as its ad mediation platform, with Google AdMob connected as a partner-bidding network. Four rewarded video ad placements exist in the app (Offline 2x, Salvage 2x, Refit Skip, and Residuum Bonus), all entirely optional and only triggered when you tap a button to watch one. The game does not show interstitial or banner ads of any kind. In current test builds these placements are integrated but not yet serving ads.
When you choose to watch a rewarded ad, the ad mediation SDK and the ad networks it works with (including Google) may collect device information and advertising identifiers in order to select and deliver ads, consistent with their own data practices. For details on Google's role as an ad partner, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Consent
On first launch, players in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent prompt provided by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). Your choice controls whether the advertising SDKs may use your data for personalised ads and whether the analytics described below is switched on at all: if you decline, the analytics SDK is never initialised on your device. Outside those regions the prompt is not shown and the app's default (non-personalised) settings apply. You can change your choice at any time through your device's advertising settings, by clearing the app's data, or by contacting us (see Contact below).
Account Data & Save Sync
The app offers optional cloud save syncing through Google Play Games Services sign-in, using Unity Gaming Services (Unity Authentication) to link your save to your Google Play Games account. Signing in is optional: you can play entirely offline with a local-only save, and nothing about the game is gated behind signing in.
If you choose to sign in, the app receives a Google Play Games account identifier (via a server auth code, exchanged through Unity Authentication) so it can associate your save data with your account. Your save data (game progress: resources, facilities, tech tree state, and similar in-game values) is then stored with Unity Gaming Services' Cloud Save so it can sync across devices signed into the same Google Play Games account. While signed in, the app also reports achievement unlocks and four leaderboard scores (lifetime Salvage, Iso-Cores, Collapses, and lifetime Insights, all derived from your game progress) to Google Play Games so they appear in your Play Games profile; your display name and avatar on those leaderboards come from Google, not from the app. The app does not receive your Google account email address, contacts, or any other Google account data beyond what Play Games Services provides for sign-in. See Google's Privacy Policy for Play Games Services, and Unity's Privacy Policy for Unity Gaming Services.
Analytics
The app integrates the GameAnalytics SDK to understand how the game is played and balanced. It is switched on only after the consent prompt described above has been answered, and never if you decline. When active, it records anonymous gameplay events (for example: tutorial steps completed, tiers unlocked, Collapses performed, rewarded ads watched, daily rewards claimed, and time away from the game) together with device information such as device model, operating system version, app version, a randomly generated install identifier, and session timings. Events contain in-game numbers only: no name, email address, contacts, precise location, or content you type is ever sent. See GameAnalytics' Privacy Policy.
Crash Reporting
The app uses Unity's built-in engine diagnostics to report crashes and unhandled errors so they can be fixed. A report contains technical information about the failure (stack trace, device model, operating system version, app version, memory state) and no personal information beyond what is needed to identify the device class. See Unity's Privacy Policy.
Notifications
The app can schedule optional local reminders on your device (for example when a Salvage Run has returned or the Collapse floor is reached). These are created and stored entirely on your device; no push notification service is used and nothing is sent to us. You can turn them off individually or entirely in Settings, or through the system notification settings. On Android 14 and later, precise reminder timing needs the "Alarms & reminders" permission, which the app only requests when you tap the corresponding Settings button.
In-App Purchases
The app offers optional in-app purchases through its in-game Store, processed entirely by Google Play's own billing system: the app itself never receives, processes, or stores your payment card details. The app receives a purchase receipt from Google Play so it can deliver what you bought, and it checks that receipt on the device against Google's signature to prevent tampering; the receipt is not sent to us or to any third party. Purchases you own are restored automatically from Google Play when you reinstall or change device.
Third-Party Services
The app integrates with the following third-party services. This list covers what is actually integrated today.
- Google / AdMob: used for rewarded video ad delivery via Unity LevelPlay, as described under Advertising above. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Games Services: used for the optional sign-in described under Account Data & Save Sync above. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Unity Gaming Services (Unity Authentication and Cloud Save): used to link your optional sign-in to your synced save data, as described under Account Data & Save Sync above. See Unity's Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Billing: processes in-app purchases (see In-App Purchases above). Payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play; the app itself does not receive, process, or store payment details.
- Google User Messaging Platform: shows the regional consent prompt described under Consent above and stores your choice on the device.
- GameAnalytics: consent-gated gameplay analytics, as described under Analytics above. See GameAnalytics' Privacy Policy.
- Unity engine diagnostics: crash and error reporting, as described under Crash Reporting above. See Unity's Privacy Policy.
Log Data
Using the app, particularly if an error occurs, may involve the third-party SDKs listed above automatically collecting information such as device model, operating system version, app configuration or state, IP address, and timestamps, for diagnostic purposes and to operate their services. Separately, on launch and when returning from the background, the app makes a lightweight request to a Google server purely to read the current time from the response header; this is used to keep offline earnings and daily rewards honest if the device clock has been changed. That request carries no account or game data.
What We Don't Collect
- No account creation is required to play.
- No email address is collected by the game itself.
- No user-generated content (chat, images, text, etc.) is collected or shared.
- No precise or approximate location is collected by the game. (Ad and analytics partners may infer a coarse region from your IP address under their own policies.)
- No data is sold, and none is shared with third parties for their own advertising purposes beyond the ad delivery described above.
Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your personal information
- Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the Contact section below.
Children's Privacy
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details in the Contact section below so it can be addressed.
Data Retention & Account Deletion
The app always stores your game progress locally on your device. If you never sign in with Google Play Games, that's the only copy that exists: there is no server-side save data, and uninstalling the app removes your local save data along with it.
If you choose to sign in, a synced copy of your save data is also retained in Unity Gaming Services' Cloud Save, tied to your Google Play Games account, for as long as you keep that data synced. You can stop syncing at any time by signing out in Settings, and you can request deletion of your synced save data using the details in the Contact section below.
Security
We use reasonable, commercially acceptable measures to help protect the information described in this policy. However, no method of transmission over the internet, and no method of electronic storage, can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
As noted above, this policy will be revised as features actually ship. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent revision.

Terms of Service
License, Not a Sale
Umbral Idle: Last Salvage is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use. It is not sold to you. You may not modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the app or its assets.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to cheat, exploit bugs for unfair advantage, use automation or bots, or attempt to manipulate game data (whether client-side or otherwise) to gain resources you would not otherwise have earned. Violating this may result in your save data being reset, or being reported to the platform (Google Play).
Intellectual Property
Umbral Idle: Last Salvage's game design, code, and original creative content are owned by the developer. Third-party licensed assets (art, fonts, music, and sound effects) are used under their respective licenses; see the in-app Credits screen for the full attribution list rather than a duplicate copy here.
In-App Purchases
All purchases are processed entirely through Google Play's own billing system, subject to Google Play's own Terms of Service in addition to this document, including Google Play's refund policy. Virtual currencies and resources earned or purchased in-game have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash. Some in-game features award items by chance (Recovery Operations can recover crew members); the odds are displayed inside the app wherever such a chance applies, and no real-money purchase directly buys a chance-based item.
Test Builds
While the app is distributed through Google Play testing tracks, balance, content, and save formats may change between builds. We will try to preserve progress, but test-track saves are not guaranteed to carry over to the final release.
Google Play Terms Apply Too
Because Umbral Idle: Last Salvage is distributed through Google Play, using the app also means agreeing to Google Play's own Terms of Service, in addition to this document. If the two conflict, Google Play's terms govern platform-level matters (billing and distribution), and this document governs the game itself.
No Warranty
The app is provided "as is," without guarantees that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on liability, so this section may not apply to you in full.
Changes to These Terms
This document will be revised as features actually ship. The "Last updated" date above will change whenever this section is revised. Continuing to use the app after a revision means you accept the updated terms.
Termination
Access to the app may be terminated for violating these Terms, including the Acceptable Use section above. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
